Law Student Honored by Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association


Shabnam Mashmasarmi of Brockton was one of two Massachusetts law students honored recently by the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association at their annual gala dinner. She received a book scholarship in recognition of her leadership potential and a commitment to making a contribution to the black community.

At Suffolk Law School, Mashmasarmi is president of the Black Law Student Association and a member of the Business Law Association, American Constitutional Society and the National Women Law Students’ Association.  She attended the 2007 summer international law program in Lund, Sweden, where she studied international trade and international human rights. A second year student concentrating in business law and financial services, she is also a peer mentor.  Mashmasarmi has worked as a legal intern at Perkins and Baskin, PC, in Braintree and will continue as a summer associate.
