CHANDLER, Ariz.--  The Suffolk baseball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday afternoon with a 10-9 non-league setback to Dakota State (S.D.) as play continued at the 2008 Greater Phoenix RussMatt Invitational at Snedigar Field.

Senior Greg DiMarco (Newton, Mass.), the reigning Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Year, continued his torrid pace at the plate by belting a three-run homer, one of three round-trippers on the day for the Rams (5-2).  Fellow senior Nick Martinho (Middleton, Mass.) added a two-run shot for Suffolk, which also received a solo homer off the bat of junior Nick Carter (Newburyport, Mass.).  Junior Anthony Iacopucci (Medford, Mass.) rapped out three hits (including a double) for the Rams, who also received a pair of hits and two RBI from junior Chris Barber (Falmouth, Mass.).

Junior Dan Delia (Boston, Mass.) suffered the setback on the mound for Suffolk, allowing five earned runs in seven innings of work against the Trojans (8-6), who are ranked fifth nationally in NAIA play.

The Rams continue play at the 2008 Greater Phoenix RussMatt Invitational on Friday afternoon when Suffolk takes on Southern Maine in a key regional doubleheader that begins at Noon MST (3:00 p.m. EDT).
