KISSIMMEE, Fla.--  Junior Jess Ferreira (Cambridge, Mass.) tossed a complete-game five hitter and helped her own cause with an RBI single as Suffolk presented Head Coach Keri Lemasters with her first collegiate victory in a 3-2 non-league college softball triumph over Spring Arbor (Mich.) as play continued at the 2008 Rebel Spring Games Thursday afternoon at the Osceola County Softball Complex.

Junior Ashley Gaboriault (Sutton, Mass.) added a two-run single as well in the triumph for the Rams, who stand at 1-5 overall on the young season after dropping a 5-1 non-league nightcap decision to Springfield.  Junior Marie Trainor (Winthrop, Mass.) also chipped in with a single in the opening game victory for Suffolk, which rapped out six hits overall.

Gaboriault drove in the lone run in the nightcap setback to Springfield to finish with three RBI on the afternoon for the Rams, who also received singles off the bats of Trainor, Ferreira, sophomore Angela Cole (Plainville, Mass.) and freshman Jessica Kehlenbach (Bethany, Conn.).  Senior Jenna Mourey (Rochester, N.Y.) went the distance on the mound for Suffolk and also collected a hit at the plate against the Pride.

Suffolk wraps-up play at the 2008 Rebel Spring Games on Friday morning when the Rams square off with Loras (Iowa) and Bridgewater State in a pair of non-league contests that begin at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m., respectively, at the Osceola County Softball Complex.
