KISSIMMEE, Fla.--  The Suffolk softball team dropped a pair of non-league outings as play continued at the 2008 Rebel Spring Games Wednesday afternoon, as the Rams fell by a 7-1 final to Hope (Mich.) in the opener before dropping a 5-1 decision to Wisconsin-River Falls in the nightcap at the Osceola County Softball Complex.

Junior Jess Ferreira (Cambridge, Mass.) scored both runs of the day for the Rams (0-4), as she belted her first home run of the spring in the opener against Hope and plated the lone tally against Wisconsin-River Falls on an RBI single off the bat of junior Rebecca Schalit (Miami, Fla.).  Senior Jenna Mourey (Rochester, N.Y.) pitched the opening contest for Suffolk, while Ferreira went the distance in the circle for the Rams in the nightcap.

Suffolk continues play at the 2008 Rebel Spring Games on Thursday afternoon, as the Rams take on Spring Arbor in the opener at 1:00 p.m. before a match-up with regional foe Springfield at 5:00 p.m., as both contests will be played at the Osceola County Softball Complex.
