CHANDLER, Ariz.--  Junior Nick Carter (Newburyport, Mass.) rapped out three hits, including a pair of run-scoring doubles, to back an eight-inning performance on the mound by fellow junior Tim Doyle (Milton, Mass.) as Suffolk ran its winning streak to four straight with a 14-2 non-league victory over Western New England at the Greater Phoenix RussMatt Invitational Monday afternoon.

The Rams, who improve to 4-1 overall with the triumph, also received a pair of hits and three RBI from junior Bobby Barrett (Milton, Mass.) as well as two RBI off the bat of sophomore Mike Kenneally (Georgetown, Mass.).  Senior Greg DiMarco (Newton, Mass.), named earlier in the day as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, reached base in all five of his plate appearances, as he rapped out a double and was hit by a pitch four times, becoming the eighth player in NCAA Division III history to be plunked in a game at least four times and the first since Dave Galford of Shenandoah last turned the trick on Saint Patrick’s day nine years ago.

Doyle took care of the rest on the mound for Suffolk, as he scattered eight hits and fanned a pair over his eight innings of work to record his first victory of the spring.  Freshman Craig Rubis (Beaumont, Alta.) pitched the final frame for the Rams and struck out a pair of Golden Bears.

Suffolk, which has outscored its last four opponents by a 34-8 margin, returns to action at the Greater Phoenix RussMatt Invitational on Wednesday afternoon when the Rams take on Macalester in a non-league match-up that begins at 10:30 a.m. MST (1:30 p.m. EDT).
