CHANDLER, Ariz.--  The Suffolk baseball team picked up its first two victories of the 2008 season on Saturday afternoon by sweeping a non-league doubleheader from Nebraska Wesleyan by scores of 7-4 in the opener and 4-0 in the nightcap as play continued at the 2008 Greater Phoenix RussMatt Invitational.

Junior Dan Delia (Boston, Mass.) went the distance in the opener for the Rams (2-1), allowing four hits and striking out six over seven innings.  Senior Nick Martinho (Middleton, Mass.) belted his first homer of the season and added a double to drive in three runs in the first contest for Suffolk, which also received three hits from sophomore Jose Alejandro (Lowell, Mass.).

Senior Greg DiMarco (Newton, Mass.) also notched a complete-game effort on the mound in the nightcap for the Rams, tossing a two-hitter and fanning nine along the way while helping his own cause at the plate with three hits.

Suffolk continues play at the 2008 Greater Phoenix RussMatt Invitational on Sunday afternoon when the Rams face Montclair State in a non-league match-up that begins at Noon MST (3:00 p.m. EDT).
