Rose Earns Spot On ECAC Northeast All-Conference, All-Rookie Squads

Suffolk freshman goalie Jeff Rose earned a spot on the 2007-08 ECAC Northeast all-conference team announced by the league over the weekend, as the Collinsville, Conn. resident was tabbed for second team honors while holding down a spot as the netminder on the conference’s All-Rookie team for the winter.

Rose shined during his rookie campaign for Head Coach Chris Glionna’s Rams, as he notched all 13 wins between the pipes with a 3.12 goals against average and a .914 saves percentage, including a 10-6 mark in ECAC Northeast action with a 2.70 goals against average and a .921 saves percentage, tops among all league rookie goalies.  Rose, who led the conference in both overall minutes played (1,579) and saves (869), made 40 or more saves on seven occasions this winter, including 40 stops on March 2nd in Suffolk’s 3-2 overtime victory over Wentworth in the ECAC Northeast quarterfinals and a career-high 47 saves in a 4-2 setback at Nichols last Wednesday evening in the ECAC Northeast semi-finals.

A two-time pick as the ECAC Northeast Rookie & Goalie of the Week this season, Rose helped the Rams post their highest single-season win total in 15 years and notch their first-ever post-season victory with the triumph at Wentworth.
