Former members of Congress to visit Suffolk University

A bi-partisan team of two former members of Congress, Romano Mazzoli (D-KY, 1971-1995) and Sue Kelly (R-NY, 1995-2007), will visit us Monday Feb. 25 and Tuesday Feb. 26 as part of the Congress to Campus program.

The program is designed to provide students with a personal perspective about American government, politics and public affairs.  The former Members offer students insights into the realities of American democracy through sharing their real-life experiences as candidates and office holders.  The program also delivers an important message about bipartisan cooperation.

The program presents a living, bipartisan demonstration of what ought to typify our representative democracy: decent people with different points of view, who are able to discuss constructive ways to work through differences to solve public problems.

Over the course of two days, the former Members conduct classes, hold forums, meet informally with students and faculty, and do interviews and talk show appearances with local press and media.
