"Spring Showcase" of Theatre Department Talent


The Theatre Department celebrates new student directors and writers in its Spring Showcase Feb. 7 through 10, 2008.

The annual festival offers first-time writers and directors an opportunity to explore their creative voices alongside some of the Theatre Department’s more experienced students.

Dancing with a Devil

A woman relives a dark and defining moment of her youth in her search for self.

The Battle of Bull Run Always Makes Me Cry
By Carole Real
Directed by Elissa Newcorn ’09
Dating, history, and coffee collide in an adorable comedy about the promise of a first date.

The Guilt
Written & Directed by Julia Gustafsson ’08
In this original play for the stage, Gustafsson explores the complex emotional landscape of a crime’s victim and perpetrator.

On Shame
Written & Directed by Rachel Kelsey ’08
Kelsey investigates the many aspects of the strange condition of “on shame” as her large and varied ensemble struggle in, out, and around their own choices.
