In the summer of 2000, authors Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen conducted interviews with 60 people, ranging widely in age, ethnicity, religious and educational backgrounds. What they had in common is that they were all found guilty of a capital crime and spent time - from two to 22 years - on death row awaiting execution. Then they were all subsequently demonstrated to be innocent and were freed.

From these interviews, Blank and Jensen created the play, The Exonerated, which won the 2003 Outer Critics Circle, the Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards, as well as the Defender of Justice Award from the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Admission is free and tickets will be available at the HUB, located in the Sagan Lobby of the Donahue Building, 617-994-4225, or by contating the Performing Arts Office at PerformingArts@suffolk.edu or at 617-305-6307.
