Women's Basketball Drops 79-54 Non-League Decision At Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass.--  Junior Nicole Duchesne (Plaistow, N.H.) scored 18 points to lead three players in double figures as Endicott notched a 79-54 non-league college women’s basketball victory over Suffolk Tuesday evening at the Post Center.

The host Gulls (2-1) jumped out to a 38-23 advantage at the break and blistered the nets at a 59 percent clip over the final 20 minutes of action while holding the visiting Rams (2-2) to a 31 percent shooting effort from the floor for the contest.  Sophomore Ceciley Chisholm (Lexington, Mass.) and graduate student Paris Sanders (Needham, Mass.) joined Duchesne in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively, while pulling down seven boards each for Endicott, which also received seven points and seven caroms from sophomore Kaylin Burke (Leominster, Mass.).

Senior Katie Castignetti (Braintree, Mass.) paced Suffolk in the scoring column with 11 points, while sophomore Stephanie Zito (Guilford, Conn.) added nine points and seven rebounds for the Rams, who also received seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds from junior Meghan Tracey (Rehoboth, Mass.).  Sophomore Laura Thompson (Kennebunk, Maine) and junior Kerry Bowman (Guilford, Conn.) chipped in with nine and eight points, respectively, for the visitors, as Endicott held a 44-40 rebounding edge for the evening while connecting for seven three-pointers.

Suffolk hosts Lesley in a non-league outing on Saturday afternoon at Regan Gymnasium beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Endicott heads to Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday evening to take on Maine-Farmington in opening round play of the Williams Holiday Classic beginning at 6:00 p.m.
