Fareed Zakaria is the author of From Wealth to Power: The Unusual Origins of America's World Role; and co-editor of The American Encounter: The United States and the Making of the Modern World. In addition Zakaria is a contributor to: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Foreign Affairs, The Times Literary Supplement, Slate, Intellectual Capital, Newsweek and The Washington Post. In November of 1999, Esquire named Zakaria "one of the 21 most important people of the 21st Century."
