STANDISH, Maine-- Sophomores Amanda Marcotte (Middleboro, Mass.) and Kelsey Armstrong (Corvallis, Ore.) each notched 11 kills to lead Suffolk to a 3-1 Great Northeast Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Saint Joseph’s (Maine) by game scores of 30-24, 30-22, 26-30 and 30-18 in a league match played Sunday afternoon at the Alfond Center.
Senior Noel Moran (Dartmouth, Mass.) added six kills and six digs in the triumph for the visiting Rams (2-8, 2-4 Great Northeast), who won two of three league contests played during the weekend, while sophomore Aly Brain (Hanson, Mass.) added four kills, three digs and a pair of blocks for Suffolk, which also received 26 set assists from freshman Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, Mass.).
Sophomore Monique Lajoie (Nashua, N.H.) notched eight kills and six digs in the setback for the host Monks (2-11, 0-5 Great Northeast).
Suffolk heads to Salem, Mass. on Tuesday evening to take on Salem State in a non-league match that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Saint Joseph’s hosts Maine-Farmington in a non-league contest on Wednesday evening at the Alfond Center that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
