Suffolk University's Business School Goes Global

Suffolk University's business school, the Sawyer School of Management, is making significant changes to its MBA curriculum and offering a new degree option, the Global MBA. The traditional Suffolk MBA programs and the new Global MBA will emphasize the school's commitment to global business issues.

Beginning in Fall 2003, the MBA will be a 10 to 18 course program that can be completed full-time in 10 to 16 months, or part-time in 16 to 28 months. Highlights of the program include an intense business simulation, also used by other select schools including Dartmouth, NYU, and Michigan, that engages students in strategic and operating issues as they assume decision-making roles in a globally oriented company; and a required course Managing in the Global Environment. Concentration areas include accounting, business law, CIS, entrepreneurship, finance, international business, marketing, organizational behavior, and not-for-profit management.

Suffolk's Saturday-only format Executive MBA Program has also been enhanced to include this global vision. The EMBA can be completed in 15 to 21 months. Both MBA and EMBA students have the option of taking one-week international seminar courses in such countries as the Czech Republic, China, France, Italy, South Africa, and Turkey.

Beginning Fall '03, Suffolk will also offer a new degree option: the Global MBA. It offers a much more in-depth look at the global business environment. A three semester, 15 month program, highlights include a one-week orientation in a multicultural setting; international business content in every core course; the choice to concentrate in international finance or international marketing; and a three-month internship in an international business setting combining global work experience and cultural immersion.
