Cases studied may include Civil Rights women's movement, environmental, militia, and new right, gay and lesbian, labor, etc. Movement issues such as goals, tactics, use of violence, use of media cultural politics, social control and repression will be considered. Under what conditions do protest movements succeed or fail in bringing desired social change? '
