Soccer Coach Takes Humanitarian Trip

Suffolk's women's soccer coach, Ernst Cleophat, took a humanitarian trip to Africa during April. Cleophat travelled to Liberia, Africa with plans to open a school, medical center and soccer academy.

"We are of El Mahdi Shrine Temple #19, under the direction of our Grand Imperial Potentate "Sunu: Bawaba Bassa Afrika", we are a group of Shriners and entrepreneurs who are doing their best to bring a brighter day into the lives of others," Cleophat said in an email from his home in Athens, Georgia.

"Our motto is "to bring a moment of joy".  My colleagues and I went there during the spring break and are planning to go back in the very near future, we have a job to do and we are going to get it done.  We were in Monrovia, Liberia where we have land for a future project, then we went to some other cities such as Gbarnga, Ganta and Kakata. I was able to meet Liberian born George Weah, the AC Milan Italian soccer player."
