Inaugural Athletics Hall of Fame Announced

The Suffolk University Athletic Department and Alumni Association announces the inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame. Eight individuals and two teams will be honored at a May 10 Hall of Fame Induction Dinner at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, MA.

Suffolk will induct two administrators, two women athletes, three men athletes, one former coach and two teams into the Suffolk University 2007 Inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame.

Suffolk’s first Athletic Director and men’s basketball and baseball coach Charles Law and current Athletic Director James Nelson head the list of inductees.

Maureen Brown and Ellen Crotty Pistorino will be inducted. Brown played women’s basketball, softball and tennis from 1990-94 and Crotty played women’s basketball and softball from 1984-88.

Donovan Little, Brian Horan and Robert Rauseo were selected for the Inaugural Hall of Fame. Little played men’s basketball from 1975-79, Horan played ice hockey from 1987-1991 and Rauseo played tennis from 1981-84. George Doucet, a Suffolk baseball coach from 1959-1972 will also be honored.
 
Teams selected for induction include the 1974-75 Men’s Basketball team coached by Charles Law and the 1990-91 ice hockey team coached by Bill Burns, Jr.

Tickets for the 6 p.m. Reception and 7 p.m. Inaugural Hall of Fame Dinner are $40 per person and $25 for alumni from 2002-2006. To purchase tickets to the dinner, contact Ellen Solomita at 617-573-8514 or esolomit@suffolk.edu

The Royal Sonesta Hotel is located at 40 Edwin Land Boulevard in Cambridge, MA. There is a $12 self-parking fee and valet parking is available for $20.
