The Suffolk Rams came back from a 13-3 deficit to beat New Jersey City College 21-17 Thursday in Cape Coral, Florida. Suffolk hit seven home runs in the game, including a grand slam from junior first baseman Nick Martinho.
Sophomore third baseman Anthony Iacopucci hit two solo home runs. Junior outfielder Jeison King hit a 3-run home run and junior outfielder Greg DiMarco hit a 3-run home run. Senior designated hitter Marc Exarhopolous hit a solo home run and sophomore catcher Kevin Silva hit a solo home run.
Suffolk scored 14 of its 21 runs off home runs. The Rams are now 6-2 to start the season with three games remaining in Florida.
The Rams were down, 13-3, before scoring five runs in the fifth inning to pull to within five, 13-8. New Jersey added two runs in the top of the seventh and then Suffolk exploded for 11 runs in the seventh, including Martinho's grand slam and three back to back to back home runs from DiMarco, Iacopucci and Silva.
