Women remain unbeaten in GNAC race with win over Pine Manor

The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team improved to 3-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference thanks to a 63-34 win over Pine Manor Wednesday night at Suffolk's Regan Gymnasium.

Suffolk's Stephanie Zito (Guilford, CT) led all scorers with 10 points. Meghan Tracey (Rehoboth, MA) hauled in 17 rebounds and  added nine points to help the Rams.

Suffolk never trailed in the game opening out to a 13-2 lead to begin the game. Pine Manor trailed just 18-11 with 10:31 remaining in the first half. However, an 11-3 Suffolk run to end the half gave Suffolk a 29-14 advantage at the halfway mark.

Suffolk continued it's impressive play beginning the second half on a 21-6 run, giving themselves a commanding 50-20 lead with 9:44 remaining.

Suffolk was dominant defensively holding Pine Manor to just 22 percent shooting and forcing 25 turnovers. Thanks to their defense, Suffolk was able to overcome a 2-19 showing from behind the arc.

The Rams are now 8-5 overall with the win. Pine Manor fell to 0-3 in the GNAC and 2-13 overall.
