BOSTON, MA – 7NEWS and Suffolk University will roll out daily tracking polls of the commuters traveling into the city of Boston during the week of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), from Monday, July 26, through Friday, July 30.

For five consecutive days, beginning Monday, July 26, on 7NEWS' 11 p.m. newscast and continuing every morning throughout the week of the DNC, “7NEWS Today in New England” (5-7 a.m.) will have daily tracking polls (featured Tuesday thru Friday) of Boston commuters and how their commute went the previous day. The study will also include the mode of commuters’ transportation (drive, public, walk, etc), and if their commute to work and home was better or worse than they expected.

Thanks to 7NEWS' exclusive polling partnership with Suffolk University,
7NEWS will be able to provide the most up-to-the-minute, interactive information of
the commuter traveling situation into downtown Boston. Suffolk University will be conducting the daily tracking surveys, which have proven to be a timely, accurate and informational resource for political pundits on the local, regional and national level.

David Paleologos, Director of Suffolk University's Political Research Center,
will be available to comment on the daily commuter survey results. He can be reached at 781-290-9310.

The survey result will be broadcast on WHDH-TV and posted on both the Suffolk University website (www.suffolk.edu) and the WHDH-TV website (www.whdh.com).

Each field poll will consist of 300 completed surveys (+/- 5.6%) at a 95% confidence level. Field work will consist of a randomly selected household list of 50,000 residents (between the ages of 17-65 years) who reside in Suffolk, Middlesex, Essex, Norfolk, & Plymouth counties courtesy of The Beacon Group, who have donated the sample list to the research center for specifically this purpose.
