New England Patriots’ Owner Bob Kraft Among National Panel of Sports and Law Experts

What: Suffolk University Law School and the Macaronis Institute for Trial and Appellate Advocacy will present a Sports Law Forum: An Inside Look from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Suffolk University Law School, 120 Tremont Street, Boston. Robert Kraft, Chairman and Owner of the Super Bowl XXXVI Champion New England Patriots will be among the panelists.    
  
Who: This conference will feature a collection of national and local experts in sports, entertainment and business law practice.

  • Robert Kraft will be one of the panelists discussing the topic, “Crystal Ball Gazing: The Legal Environment of Major Team Sports for the Decade Ahead,” from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Among the experts joining Mr. Kraft on the panel is Gene Upshaw, Executive Director of the NFL Players Association.
  • Tim Condon, President, IMG Football. Condon represents over 80 NFL players such as Peyton Manning, Chad Pennington, LaDainian Tomlinson and Rich Gannon.
  • Kristen Kuliga, Principal of K Sports & Entertainment and a 1994 Suffolk University Law School graduate. Kuliga negotiated Doug Flutie’s $33 million contract with the San Diego Chargers and endorsement contracts with NIKE, Coca-Cola, ESPN, McDonald’s and Sports Illustrated.
  • Mark Steinberg, President, IMG Basketball & Senior VP, IMG Golf. Steinberg represents golfers Tiger Woods and Annika Sorenstam and basketball player Vince Carter.

Sports Law Forum: An Inside Look is being sponsored by Suffolk University Law School’s Macaronis Institute for Trial and Appellate Advocacy, the Center for Advanced Legal Studies and the Office of Alumni Relations. The conference co-chairs are the Honorable John J. Irwin, Jr., Director of the Macaronis Institute, and Suffolk University Law School Professor Richard M. Perlmutter.

Suffolk University Law School was founded in l906 and has grown to be one of the largest law schools in the country. The Law School is located in the legal and business center of Boston, Massachusetts. In l999, newly-built Sargent Hall was dedicated and is the most technologically-advanced law school of its kind, exemplified by Internet access at every seat in the classrooms, library, dining room and common areas. The core curriculum provides a strong legal foundation for more than 200 upper-level elective courses as well as five specialty concentrations in the JD program and five joint-degree programs that combine law with business, public administration, international economics, finance and criminal justice.
