Jack Connors, Jr., Receives John Joseph Moakley Public Service Award

BOSTON, MA- Jack Connors, Jr., the founding partner and Chairman of Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, Inc., was the recipient of the John Joseph Moakley Public Service Award during The John Joseph Moakley Charitable Foundation’s Third Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony held recently at Suffolk University Law School.

Jack Connors receiving Moakley Public Service AwardUnder the leadership of Jack Connors, Hill, Holliday, a full-service marketing communications company with headquarters in Boston, New York City and San Francisco, has evolved from a one-room shop to a nationally recognized advertising agency that produces internationally-acclaimed creative work, and has won numerous industry honors and awards.

Throughout Greater Boston, Jack Connors is known for his philanthropic efforts as well as his business acumen. He has used the considerable talent and resources of Hill, Holliday to make a difference in the Greater Boston community through pro bono work for dozens of non-profit and charitable organizations. In addition, he gives freely of his own time, serving on the board of directors of many local health care, educational and community institutions.

The John Joseph Moakley Charitable Foundation, Inc. was formed in the spring of 2001 in order to continue the extraordinary public service legacy of Congressman John Moakley. The mission of the Foundation is to assist worthy individuals and charitable organizations to pursue educational opportunities in all sectors of the economy. The Foundation will provide scholarships and grants on an annual basis.

This year, the Moakley Foundation presented 20 educational scholarships, totaling $100,000, to individuals with a variety of backgrounds and a history of public service. Congressman Jim McGovern (D-Third District) presented Mr. Connors with his award, along with presenting the 20 educational scholarships to those deserving individuals from across the state.

Suffolk University, located on Boston's historic Beacon Hill, with campuses in Madrid, Spain and Dakar, Senegal, is a comprehensive global institution distinguished by its teaching and the intellectual contributions of its faculty. Suffolk offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in more than 70 areas of study. Its mission is to provide quality education at a reasonable cost for students of all ages and backgrounds, with strong emphasis on diversity. Suffolk has a combined enrollment of more than 7,000 full-time and part-time students at its Law School, College of Arts and Sciences and Sawyer School of Management.
