Andrius Zeikus, who has served as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Suffolk in 2007 and 2008, enters his first season as Head Men's Soccer Coach.
A resident of Somerville, Mass., Zeikus has helped guide Suffolk to 19 victories since 2006, including back-to-back berths in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference semi-finals as well as the program’s first-ever ECAC post-season appearance in 2006. Zeikus has helped coach four all-GNAC performers over that time period and takes over for Nick Papadopoulos, who led the Rams to 61 victories during his seven year tenure.
A 2004 graduate of Husson College, Zeikus earned a Master’s degree from Suffolk in 2006 and is a candidate for a Doctorate in Education from Boston University. He has previous coaching experience at both Boston English High School and the Boston Latin School and works full-time as a personal trainer at Vim Fitness in Cambridge, Mass.
Nick Papadopoulos, who served for the seven years as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Suffolk University, has been cast in a new role as Advisor and Recruiting Coordinator.
A successful figure in the collegiate soccer ranks for two decades, Papadopoulos posted 61 victories during his seven-year tenure as Suffolk’s mentor, including back-to-back appearances in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference semi-finals in each of the last two seasons and the school’s first-ever ECAC Division III tournament berth in 2006. Papadopoulos guided the Rams to 11 victories in 2004 and reached double-digits in the win column once again with 10 triumphs during the 2006 campaign, and in 2008, he helped Suffolk record nine victories, including a 2-0 win over Albertus Magnus in the Great Northeast quarterfinals.
